Background

The first free digital summer camp designed to inspire kids to ask questions and discover the answers through fun science projects.

High School students in the US rank 26th in the world for science and 35th in the world for math. For us to inspire the next generation of Larry Pages, Elon Musks and Mark Zuckerbergs, we need to set kids on a lifelong journey of exploration and discovery at a young age. So we took Google technology, partnered with educators and partners kids looked up, and created Camp Google, the first free digital summer camp designed to encourage kids to ask their own questions and discover the answers themselves through fun science projects.

Virtual Field Trips

Virtual Field Trips

Explore everything from space to the deep seas.

We partnered with National Geographic, NASA astronauts, Hawaii National Park Rangers, and Zendaya and Timbaland to take kids on a virtual field trips each week. Each week was also hosted by a YouTuber kids loved and full of fun and science.

Science Projects

Science Projects

Fun science programming you would find on YouTube.

Each week also contained fun science lessons sparked by a question and a related science project that unlocked their imagination and hopefully more questions. Each lesson was led by our host and Google employees that performed fun skits. Every completed project was rewarded with a badge and they were encouraged to share their results with other kids. Parents and educators loved Camp Google and so did the millions of kids who participated.
